#116- EVERYTHING HAPPENS TO ME!

A month ago when I was first pulling together my birthday blog I started on an interesting and frustrating cyber adventure.  All I wanted to do was add a song to the piece.   First I tried to add it to my original piece.  You know something SOFTLY playing in the background as people stroll through my life. 

Well, it became a nightmare!

The first attempt was in the middle of the night as I struggled to understand the instructions (instructions I might add, written by someone who did not have in mind the type of techno-idiot trying to follow said "techno geek" type instructions).  Finally, I clicked on a button that sent an UGLY “RED” PLAYER to the TOP of my birthday segment.  It was awful!  And it had absolutely NO songs on the play list.  I struggled until 2 in the morning and finally got the darned thing off (only I didn’t write down any of the things I did).   
Then,  January 25^th I was trying again.  Stubborn?  Who me?  You bet your sweet “bippy” I am!  Determined to succeed I plunged headlong down the path to madness again.  The results were much the same.  Only I failed to understand that I had only put the player on a single new page not on my entire blog as a gadget (which. like an idiot, was my original intention).  
Again,  I worked for hours, on into the wee hours of the morning, and could not get the thing off my blog.  I started making comments on my own blog so my followers would understand what was happening.  My eyes were red (and so was my rear I'm sure)!

Couldn't find a clip art on red rears (that I could post anyway).

Well, DUH! What a Maroon!  I was so sure that I had posted the entire thing on my entire blog that I never thought to pop in and delete the darned thing in the first place.  So that is what I did.

But, here is the more interesting part. Everything Happens To Me, was not on my play list.  HONEST!  And the word Everything was spelled without an "r"  (it is spelled right on the playlist site).  So, I’m, thinking it’s that old Computer Related Attacks by Poltergeists (C.R.A.P.) again!

Now, dare I try again? You bet!

#58-"COMPUTER RELATED ATTACKS by POLTERGEISTS"

"Ok, I have a page all set up and waiting for you," Say I to myself as I move through the many help pages and try to figure things out.  I know any minute now I will stumble into "C.R.A.P." (Computer Related Attacks by Poltergeists).

Example #2 :when I tried to post #36 one paragraph posted where it belonged and the rest (3 paragraphs) posted 52 pages later!  When I went to the published post I couldn't believe it when I paged down for about a minute before I got to the end. (See example #1 on blog #48).

Example #3:  I was cleaning up my desktop and Macintosh HD window when somehow things disappeared.  I looked for them (some of my blog 1st drafts) everywhere found some in the trash found others in unexpected places.  Some I still haven't found.  I didn't put this stuff there.  Now, when I post I can't n get into my regular files the normal way.  I have to detour to all kinds of places in order to import anything!  C.R.A.P. again!

Example #4:  I purchased a computer camera and down loaded Skype so I can talk to my granddaughter who is stationed in Korea.  No problem, worked great.  Then one day she called and immediately started pointing to her ears and started shaking her head no.  She was not receiving my audio.  Diagnostics showed I was not sending audio.  I had not changed ANYTHING.  I logged onto help, went through a wide variety of computer calisthenics  and got no where.  I had to trash everything having to do with Skype and start from scratch.  It worked!  However, 3 months later it happened again.  C.R.A.P.

Has anyone out there had the same kind of problems?  Please write me and let me know.  There might be a C.R.A.P. virus or something going around!  Really!

#48-WHY DO WIERD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?

I have decided that I need to blog about the weird things that I encounter while trying to interact with my computer (and this blog).  I TRULY believe that it (my computer) is deliberately messing with my mind.    I am going to list examples as they come up.


#1  I was just typing up a future blog for my draft page and for some reason the entire comment is written to the left of my post templet.  Some was written below the "return to list of posts" tab.  No matter what I did to this page came up the same.  I follow the same procedure each time I write up a post.  I type it in Microsoft Word then copy and paste.  The first two came out fine, but, number three blogged out! 
               
I checked the preview and it published normally.  I returned to my list of posts and re-entered this blog.  Still blogged out.


I went back to the original on my desktop and went through the same procedure (on a new draft page) just to check. The same thing happened, again.  HOWEVER, when I retyped the blog onto a blank post page it came out right??????????????


Stuff like this happens to me all the time.  When it does I think I will post each one and entitle the post "COMPUTER RELATED  ATTACKS by POLTERGEISTS" or "C.R.A.P." for short.


Would you share one of your C.R.A.P. moments on my comment section.  I need to know that I am not the only one!
